Rievaulx Abbey Cloister, Yorkshire

Rosie likes to enjoy a cuppa from the cloister at this atmospheric
ruined abbey, where she says you can 'admire the crumbling ruins
of the once-mighty church, ogle the ivy-covered rambling local
houses, and enjoy lush green views along the valley.'

Our judges ruled that that contemplation does indeed go well with
a cuppa. That and the history invoked in this spot make it a winner.

Monkey says, 'History was never my strong point at school.
However, I am fluent in the Shakespearean tongue and look
fabulous in a ruff.'
